Am I the only one who thinks this is completely inappropriate?
My wife has a friend who is getting married. This is her SECOND marriage. Her and her ex husband divorced about 5 years ago at the age of 28 after 7 years of marriage and two small children. No affiars, no alcoholism, just woke up and decided they didn’t want to be married to each other anymore due to hectic schedules, etc. Sold the house, they each took a car, and that was that.
NOW she is getting remarried and throwing this ridiculously extravagent wedding. She says it’s because she couldn’t afford the wedding of her dreams the first go around. She’s registered for TONS of stuff at various stores, and as me and my wife went shopping for another $150 kitchen appliance it hit me: This woman already has all this stuff! Why are we buying her a NEW breadmaker when she still has the one we bought her the first time she made a lifelong commitment?
So my question is if you think huge 2nd weddings are appropriate? Personally, I don’t.
No, one huge wedding is all we should get…I agree. I had a fabulous one when I married…now I’m divorced and if I ever get married again it will probably be a fly off to Tahiti on our own thing, you know?
