fan oven elements
tricity bendix oven?

i have a tricity bendix oven model sei555sv,the main oven does not work anymore.the fan is going round but no heat is coming through, top oven is working fine still.
do you know how to get to the element to check it? is it through the back pannel or the pannel at the back of the main oven itself.

thanks

You should be able take out the back panel from inside the oven. Then undo the screws that hold the element in place. Gently pull the element towards you and the spade connectors should pull through enough for you to disconnect from the element. Don’t yank it or strain the wiring. Put a couple of clothes pegs on the disconnected ends as they have a habit of falling back into their holes! If you can’t do it because there is not enough slack – all is not lost but you will have to take the cooker out and whip of the back panel.
The spade connectors may be stiff to remove as the heat tends to stick them on so use WD40 and pliers on them – not the wire.
Once the element is out you may see a small hole where is has burnt out. Or use a cheapie tester set to ohms to test for continuity. By the way elements are quite expensive these days. Still cheaper than a call out though!
